Next Stop Mars is owned and managed by a travel and tourism, mountaineering and Nordic Walking professional whose objective it is to surpass the translation requirements of companies and individuals engaged in these sectors.
I set up Next Stop Mars to marry my love of the German language with my professional experience in travel and tourism, mountaineering and Nordic walking. I gained my Dipl. Übers at the Fachhochschule Köln and worked as a translator in Germany for many years while travelling extensively in my leisure time.
Since returning to the UK I’ve worked in sales and consulting in travel and tourism, specialising in product development and account management for German-speaking clients. My experience encompasses travel agencies, tour operators, airlines and destination-management companies in sectors including group travel, cruises, adventure travel and tailor-made holidays.
As well as a BA in Modern Languages I have an MSC in Tourism Development and Policy. I’m passionate about mountaineering and Nordic walking and spend much of my free time in the mountains, where I like to climb in summer and winter conditions. I also teach Nordic walking and organise social Nordic walks through www.nordicwalknow.co.uk.
And why the name Next Stop Mars? With determination and commitment anything is possible … and I’d love to explore the mountains of Mars!
